Description
This came out in the early seventies. It came in a small, foam cup (like cip o noodles). It was a "dust" that was meant to be sprinkled on your cereal. I remember orange and a strawberry or cherry flavor. Very sweet...Oh how we would beg for that one!

i remember a totally different product. They were small black packets, similar to Pop Rocks, except Space Dust was more the texture of sand, or a superfine sugar. they did fizz and pop in the mouth. 3 flavors, grape, orange and strawberry. There was an animated picture of said fruit on the cover of the package flying through space. Fanatastic! Much butter than pop rocks as there was a sour or tart element as well. This would have been in the late '70's.

@Jennifer That's what I remember as well, a product similar to Pop Rocks.

Wow this use to be the candy back in the 70s. Forget Rice Crispy, We had Space Dust that not only popped in your mouth but also let off a fizzle. Would love to see this one again.

General foods came out with Space Dust Sizzlin' Candy in 1973. In small packets like Kool Aid. A round, sort of hideous humanized face pn front. It was 20c for a .17oz packet. Had to sprinkle it on your tongue (like Spree) to fully taste it. Was sold in five different flavors. Another novelty item which vanished from shelves a year later.
