This is supposed to be a section on Raisin Bran Flakes, which are still available at every single grocery store you can find. Please break up your comments by item. . . it's rather ridiculous to keep rambling on in the description line like you did. Please try to use some posting etiquette.

YES!! I do know what you are talking about! Actually they were made for a short while in the 60's (when I was very young). The raisins weren't raisins but small dry purple flakes. They would melt in the milk and turn the milk purple. They were so good. I always wondered if anyone else remembered them and have looked them up on the web a few times.

I think the cereal you're referring to is either "Kellogg's(R) Raisin Bran" or "Post(R) Raisin Bran". Both cereals were made with bran flakes and had raisins.

Yes I do remember the flat raisins. They did turn the milk purple. No one I ask can remember these, but I do.

From the Saturday morning cartoon vault, marking the 50th year since two key TV kid shows premiered on the networks. A commercial for Kellogg's Raisin Bran with the talking sun (Dawson Butler) aired on "Archie" over CBS and "Banana Splits Adventure Hour" over NBC (9/14/68). Low-budget Filmation (repetitious use of animation) produced "Archie," teaming with Don Kirshner on the musical side. "Danger Island" and several cartoons augmented the live-action Banana Splits, who had issues with the Sour Grape Bunch, a gang of girls in purple. Other commercials included Ogg the caveman for Cocoa Krispies.

Raisin Bran Flakes were our family's favorite for as long as they were available! We kids loved the flavor and they were easy for our little teeth to handle... My mother had to get dentures when I was quite small, and she missed her morning bowl of raisin bran until they made these tasty raisin flakes... She could have her raisins and bran flakes again! Mmmmm... Please make these again!
