Description
I don't know if this was a nationwide thing, or just local, but there was a chain of "The Pop Shoppe" shops where you could pick form 20-30 flavors of Pop Shoppe pop. They had any flavor you could imagine; vanilla creme, tangerine, raspberry, pineapple, peach; and some that you shouldn't imagine, like -- chocolate mint. What was great was the price: ten cents a bottle. You had to pay a dime deposit on the bottles, though.

We used to do the Pop Shoppe routine. It was great we had the crate and bottles we used to all pick out our own flavors. This was in Southern California. Not sure if nationwide.

I remember the one on the corner of Lambert Road and Beach Boulevard, right across the street from Carl's Jr., Last I checked, the location was a lawnmower shop.

There were a couple in Connecticut as well. The last one I remember existing was one that has since been replaced with a liquor store. I guess the demand changed.

If there were a soda I miss, then it would HAVE to be the Pop Shoppe's selections! Pineapple and black cherry were my favorite!

My sister and I used to buy a case each and take them with us back overseas. There used to be off I-95 in New Haven, CT NB after the Q-Bridge. I can remember every flavor like it was yesterday!! There was also a Penny Candy store around the corner in Branford, CT that closed up about the same time.

Re-incarnated. You can get it at Zellers, but now sold as "boutique" pop in competition with Jones, etc. Try thepopshoppe dot com.

We had one on Pecos Street on the outskirts of Denver. Everyone was able to pick their flavor. It was a big deal in the day, because we were usually relegated Kool-Aid as pop was too expensive. Orange was my fave.

The Pop Shoppe was a Canadian company, at their peak they had 500 stores in Canada and sold a million bottles a day. They did expand into the states for a time but then the cola wars started and bye bye Pop Shoppe. Fast forward, A Businessman in the Toronto area bought out the name and Pop Shoppe is back in Canada as a premium Pop simular to Jones Soda

My brother and I loved The Pop Shoppe! We lived in Napa, Ca and went with our 2 cases once a month to get refills. We got to choose what flavors and they were for our friends and us to drink while having pool parties =)

We had a Pop Shoppe in Western New York for a short time. My favorite flavor was lime rickey. This was my introduction to cream soda, also. Was sd when the store closed.

I used to pick them up at Zellers in the last year or so for 99ยข each or a small multiflavour case for a little less each. Now that Zellers is no more, I have found some at a few other stores but they sell for about $1.5--1.99 each. Have seen Black Cherry, Cola, Lime Ricky, Pineapple (rare), Root Beer, and Orange. Tastes good still!
