Every Friday at lunchtime, pizza burgers were served in the cafeteria at my elementary school, and it was the highlight of the week! The lunch line was always so long on Friday... Pizza burgers were simply hamburger buns split open, each half topped with a slice of American cheese, which was topped with a dollop of pizza sauce--all of which was broiled for a few seconds and voila! cafeteria cuisine at its finest. :) My kids think this is hilarious!!!

My mom would make these only different from momdabomb's version. My mom would take English Muffins and split them, then would put Sloppy Joe's (with ground beef) on each slice and then sprinkle Mozzarella on top and put them under the broiler. Yummy to this day!!!
