Description
These were my moms favorite. We though it was so neat to open a can of the hot dog wraps (like you open a can of biscuts) and wrap our own hot dogs in them. They came in different flavors, I only remember original and cheese. My mother loved them because we did all the work. Mid 70's

The theme song was: "Weiner Wrap a dog, make it roll over, teach an old dog a new trick!"

I loved these! My mom bought the onion and the cheese when I begged her for them.

I was telling someone about these the other day. They said why not just use the cressent rolls? It's not the same. I remember Mom would buy these and let my brother and I wrap the hot dog. We thought we were so cool cooking our own dinner. My father traveled for his job 3 days out of the week so really mom liked it because we did the work. Onion was my favorite.

Yeah, I remember they had plain, cheese, and onion. I loved the onion best! Sometimes I still wrap a hot dog in 2 crescent rolls but they're not shaped right, have to pinch dough off at the ends. Also tried sprinkling onion powder on them but it's not the same. With people looking for cheap and easy dinner ideas these days it would be a great time to reintroduce them!

Pillsbury introduced its Wiener Wraps in 1974, and still selling. Found an early TV commercial for Pillsbury Chocolate Chip Cookie dough, where Poppin Fresh meets Marcia Brady! Maureen McCormick was about nine years old at the time. She not only pokes the Dough Boy's belly, she kisses him and his face turns red! This aired on a daytime rerun of the "Andy Griffith" show (retitled: Andy of Mayberry) over CBS (8/25/66).

I was just telling my husband about these the other night. One summer in the 1970s, my Mother made these like every other night. I dreaded asking her "What's for dinner?"
