Description
I'm not too sure if I am spelling it right, but back it he 70's every kid would by this cheese popcorn. I believe it had a red stripe on the top of the package ... it was the best ... too bad they don't make it anymore.

Are you sure it wasn't O-K cheese flavored popcorn? That's what I remember from high school in the early eighties. That was breakfast every morning, along with a big gulp...

O-KE-DOKE Popcorn is made by Jay's Foods. They are a Chicago company with a small distribution area. It is my FAVORITE and I have my mom bring some to me in AZ every time she visits. Check out www.jaysfoods.com to order online.

O-KE-DOKE popcorn taste no where near like it did in the 90's. I am very disappointed in the flavor now. It use to be so cheesy! Your not missing anything.

Jay Foods, best known for potato chips since 1927, first introduced O-Ke-Doke cheese popcorn in 1971. Jay's aged manufacturing plant in Chicago closed in 2007, production shifted to Indiana (Snyder Foods). Jay's delved into popcorn, hoping to gain a better competitive edge over Frito-Lay. Kinda worked, but Frito-Lay still rules the snack industry. Here's a history note on the company: The original name was Mrs. Japp's Potato Chips. The Japp family founded the company. After Pearl Harbor in 1941, the family quickly changed the name to Jay, for obvious reasons (same as anybody named Adolf/Adolph did the same after war was declared on Germany).
