As far back as the fifties, Morton also made frozen spaghetti and macaroni and cheese, both very good. Last I heard, Con-Agra closed them down. Probably couldn't find a way to include high fructose corn syrup into Morton's recipe.

In college at Va Tech, 1970, seems like they were 5 for a dollar on sale. Probably cost 20 cents in electricity then to heat in the toaster oven ( from frozen) but the notion of the carbon footprint of a pot pie would be years later.

I can still remember their commercials. Colonel Morton (way before colonel Sanders) goatee and all telling us " Morton Pot Pies, no soggy under crust" .

I swear there was nothing better on Grocery day than seeing the freezer full of these Goodies when I came home from school. I remember Mortons used used to sell Frozen spaghetti in that small metal tin container (my abso fave). I miss the my vintage meals.
