It was FAYGO Moonshine. Kind of like Mountain Dew, but more yellow. It was really good. Hard to find west of the Mississippi river though. I remember the drunk looking hillbilly on it, and it was a favorite of mine in the 70's.

I also remember the old hillbilly on it not a witch and a black cat. Not saying it wasn't on there though. I was born in 68 and remember it till I was 10 or so. wish I could find a pic of it atleast.

I remember the bottles with the hillbilly on them. I believe we had a local bottler who made this flavor. Their name was Werbelo's or something like that. I miss that flavor.

I have great memories drinking moonshine at Great grandparents resturant in early 70's. Loved the flavor and the hillbilly on the bottle. Cost - 15 cents!

It was a hillbilly...i know as it was invented by my grandfather and my family still holds the patents for the drink (i have all the original art work my mother drew up, including a hand design t-shirt my daughter now wears to school)....i drank it like water as a kid because we sold and shipped from our home. We also made a drink called HoKo...

My grandmother had two empty bottles in her basement. I had always wanted one. She had told me (and Teri Middleton may be able to confirm it true or not) that the rights to the beverage were sold BUT one ingredient was allowed to be held free from the recipe. Thus no beverage on the market tastes now, like Moonshine did then.

I used to drink this at summer camp in western Virginia. Hillbilly on the can; tasted similar to Mountain Dew or Mello Yello.

I was able to buy moonshine at the quarter pop machine in the 80s. It was sold with big red and rc cola

I just came across one of these Hillbilly Faygo Moonshine bottle labels. Very cool and in very great condition. The lady had stored it in a photo album. :) Just listed on eBay. Check it out.

It was what I always went after when I went into the store next to my house when I was a kid. I grew up in eastern Kentucky, and was born in 1976. Then it just sort of vanished. I miss it!
