Description
These were a step up from Pop Tarts. They were toaster pastries, but were more akin to a breakfast danish (hence, the name DANISH GO-ROUNDS). They were oval shaped and had fruit filling and a sweet glazed coating. I'm guessing these were around in 1972, but they didn't last long.

Loved these!! Were fun to pull apart as you ate them! Mysteriously disappeared from the shelves........
I remember these from when I was a kid. I always unrolled them to eat them. I would LOVE to have them again.
I emailed Kellog's a few years ago. I asked them (via email)about the Danish Go-Rounds. They said there was not a market for that particular food item. I think they should hire a new marketing staff!!!!
I totally LOVED these too! I remember you only got 4 of these in a box compared to 6 in a box of Pop-Tarts. Was very sad when Kellogg's stopped making these although I have adopted a MUCH healthier diet than the one I had in the 70's! :)
My friend's dad worked for Kelloggs in the 70's.
He used to bring home cereal & regular PopTarts
(thanks to him I have a whole set of the little wooden PopTart men). One day he brought us what seemed to be a wonderfood, the Danish Go Rounds.
I was about 7 and had never had anything so tasty.
Hate to admit it, as a 43 yr old mother who is in good shape and eats well, I still eat blueberry PopTarts for breakfast. And I frequently wish I had some Danish Go Rounds.
I loved the Brown Sugar Cinnamon flavor. Someone has too tell Kelloggs to bring them back
I LOVED them!! I bring them up occasionally and people look at me like I'm crazy (mostly younger ones that don't remember them), but, I would absolutely love to see them come back.
I wish Kelloggs would bring these back!!! They were soooo YUMMY!! My favorite was strawberry! I loved to pull them apart before eating them. Lots of people my age remember them fondly and loved them as much as I did!
These were the absolute BEST! They were ten times better than wimpy pop-tarts. Kelloggs would clean up if they marketed them correctly. Remember Milton the toaster?
I can even remember the song from the commercial! I loved these, there was a honey nut that was my favorite thing to eat. Auntie Anne's pretzels has a topping that in my taste memory is kind of similar, but the hunt for this Holy Grail of taste still continues....

I frequently long for a Danish-go-round. My favorite was the brown sugar-filled ones. Let's all bombard Kellogg's to bring them back. They beat anything I can find today.
I remember them as well. I was just asking my mom about these a couple of weeks ago. Neither one of us could recall the name. I would love to try one again.
I loved these as a kid, my brother and sisters don't remember them at all, I was beginning to think I imagined them. I don't remember the hole in the middle though.
I LOVED these as a kid, esp. the blueberry iced ones and asked my mother about them recently--she doesn't remember them, so I thought I made it up. They were better than Pop-Tarts, but you couldn't try to pull off the icing and eat it in one piece, like you could try with
Pop-Tarts, when they used to drizzle the icing on, and it would sometimes scorch in the toaster, and I mean SCORCH if you didn't watch it, or some other sibling rearranged the toaster setting on you. Yes, Danish Go-Rounds were definitely simple bliss in the morning!
These were the best. I guess Kellogg's does not know a good thing when they see it. I guess they make too much money now to ever care who liked what.
I Loved, Loved, Loved these as a kid. The Brown Sugar Cinnamon was my favorite. I'm glad to see other people feel the same way as I do. Wish they would come back.
I was obsessed with these! I'm 43 -- I think the last time I had one in my mouth was when I was 4 -- and I can still taste the brown sugar cinnamon ones and the blueberry one. THEY WERE SO GOOD!!! I still dream of them...
I think of Danish Go-Rounds every single time I pass the pop tarts in the grocery aisle. I dream that I'll see them once again. I read nutrition labels and eat high fiber, high protein foods now as an adult, but I'd eat Danish Go-Rounds again. Please bring them back!
Waaaaay better than Pop-Tarts. One of these and a Space Stick and I was good to go all morning at Kindergarten. LOL!

Wow, I'm glad to hear I wasn't the only one who still misses Danish Go Rounds! Much better than Pop-Tarts! Every once in a while i get a glimmer of a taste that reminds me of them. We can't all be nuts to STILL miss them!

Boy oh boy do I remember these. It has taken me years to remember the name of them. The strawberry and cherry ones were my favorite. I would love to see them come back.
These things were awesome. A cut above pop tarts as far as I'm concerned. They never lasted long around our house as we ate them as fast as mom could buy them.
I thought I was the only nut who remembered the yummy Danish Go Round from the 70's...obviously not, but I have longed for them every now and then over the years...I'm 43 now...maybe it's just nostalgia, but I really remember them tasting so fantastically unique!

Blueberry was my favorite. I have never tasted a better blueberry flavor in ANYTHING since then. And I'm 50 years old.
Blows away any pop tart out there. I don't understand why they don't re-introduce them. I wonder if they would seel the recipe.
I remember going to my Grandmother's, she always had Danish Go-Rounds for us. I agree with you all, Kellogg's should start making these again.

I remember "unwinding" them as I ate them after they popped out of the toaster, all nice and hot! They were far superior to the ordinary Pop Tart... Ah, the simple memories of my youth...

This sure brings back memories. Danish Go Rounds were the BEST. And, of course, I would unwind them to eat them too. Let's do a letter writing campaign and see if we can make Kellogg's bring them back.
I was searching the internet trying to figure out what the pastries were called. All that I remember was that they were absolutely delicious and pulling them apart while eating them and that ithey have danish in the name. Only after a few searches, I found this site and was so happy to fing that I wasn't the only one that missed them from our childhood. I do wish they would put them back on the market today. They would do so well now that we'll pay $5 for a coffee!
Danish Go Rounds were the greatest. I agree, they need a new markeing staff. My favorite were Honey Crunch but I dug the Brown Sugar Cinammon ones too.

Yeah! As a kid about 12 years old I would walk a mile to the store to buy a box of Danish-Go-Rounds and then get a slurpee to wash it down with. ahhh...the days of eating like a kid!

Didn't they have chocolate ones too? I absolutely loved these things. I guess Kellogs must hire their marketing crew from the same batch of people that keep getting hired by the Obama administration.

OMG -- Danish-Go-Rounds were the BEST!! I would give anything if they would bring those back. Maybe they should try what McDonald's does with the McRib....once a year, for a limited time.

I agree with all of you! I loved the blueberry too. Sometimes my sister and I would eat two poptarts, but one of the Danish go rounds was very filling!

Blueberry rocked!! Brown sugar was good too. If they brought them back the flavors probably wouldn't be the same. Just a bunch of chemicals made to kinda taste like we remember.

Kellogs is definitely missing an opportunity to do a retro thing. And don't they realize all the 40-somethings with money who would wipe these off the shelves and then hook a new generation on them?

Danish Go..." That's as far as they would get before people would be off the couch, jumping in their Lexus (or Accord, or Chevy, or Kia) and heading to Kroger!
Same as Jeffrey ... thought I was the only one who remembered these. Loved 'em! Miss 'em! I remember several years after the go-rounds disappeared that Kellogg's came out with an imposter; basically a go-round 'shape' pressed into a pop-tart pastry ... *bleh* ... thankfully those disappeared quickly.
Oh man,blueberry were the best,one of those,a space stick and a Rondo in the morning and you were riding that sugar high till noon at least!!!Of course I had to sneak the Rondo,but it was worth every second!!! I want some now!!!Man,the 70's just ROCKED for breakfast foods and great sodas!!! A bygone era for sure...... :(
I thought I was nuts!! I suddenly remembered these about a week ago and have been obsessed with finding out info about them!!! I LOVED the brown sugar cinnamon, I was always pissed that there were fewer per box than pop-tarts. We need to start a website / petition and brig them back!
i grew up at a time with no toaster for a while. so we fried them in a skillet with butter. it's funny how certain things stick out in your memory. i think when i'm senile, i'll be mumbleing go-round..go-round. they where the best!! any flavor,what made them so good was there was a lot more fruit to 'crust' ratio than poptarts. i wish they would come back

NOW HERE'S THE BIGGER QUESTION: DOES ANYONE REMEMBER WHEN DEVIL DOGS CAME OUT WITH A SUPERSIZED DOG CALLED DADDY DOG FOR A VERY SHORT TIME?? NOW TALK ABOUT HEAVEN, PAIR A DADDY DOG WITH A DANISH GO ROUND AND WE SURELY WILL BE IN HEAVEN (DUE TO SUGAR OVERLOAD!) But they both were the absolute greatest of all.
kelloggs you have a market for them now. America is growing older and wants a better time, an American time. hot American pastry! pop tarts suck because they cool too quickly. give us back our youth, give us back our danish go rounds!
I can't beleive it!I was just talking to my husband about these.He doesn't remember them. Thought I was crazy.I WAS crazy about them.What a great childhood memory!I sure wish Kellogs would bring them back.I don't think they would be disappointed.Sounds like many people are disappointed that they stopped making them.They did beat the heck out of any pop tarts or pastries on the market today.I would love for my children to experience a "danish-go-round"!KELLOGS please bring them back!
I was just talking to my sister about daish go rounds and then found this site- what great times but did anyone ever get burned by them I remember the filling was really hot- I was blue berry and my sister thinks that she was raspberry - I have a friend who works for kelloggs so I will see if he can get these back ...lol
Finally I've found these things again. I had been trying to remember what it is I used to eat in the 70's while watching Saturday morning cartoons. Pissed me off that I couldn't remember. They were soooo much better than PopTarts.
my buddy got the runs from a box of danish go rounds, we robbed a train wreck full of them yrs ago (they gave them to us acyually) and took them on a camping trip. they were great, I wish they would bring them back. I like the brown sugar ones, we chased a box of them down the river when out canoe tipped over, my buddy steve ( same one) could care less about the canoe stuff, just the danish go rounds, we had a whole case of them!!!!! thanks kelloggs, for a great product, wish they were still here.
Man I loved these things! If ever I'm in a new grocery store, I'll look...Just in case. Couldn't get enough of them. Wish they'd bring them back, but you know how that goes. It would never be as good as the childhood memory. When summers seemed endless and the ends of the earth went all the way to the end of your block and you could go to the moon and back and still be home in time for dinner. Ah, nostalgia...
I've mentioned Danish Go Rounds to so many people and no one remembers them, I'm so relieved to know I'm in good company. I loved the blueberry iced ones the best. It would be so cool if Kelloggs made these again - like Pepsi has the "throwback" cans and ingredients.

I loved Danish Go Rounds! Best item on the market, by far, from Kelloggs. Great product. Wish they were still here. They should bring these back. The brown sugar cinnamon were the absolute best. My brother and I would fight over the last one!
