OMG these cookies were sooo good. I never knew which ones tasted better, the vanilla or the chocolate. The best was when you got one that had both flavors mixed together. Wish they'd bring them back or those vanilla wafers with the marshmellow inside them! Yum!

growing up in the 70's in New Jersey with bussing and all, I always thought about how happily integrated these cookies were.

I loved these cookies. No one I know remembers them. I guess it was their loss. Somebody, please bring them back! Dunking them in milk was heaven!

I used to stack them together 3 at a time to make Happynik "oreos"... a vanilla between two chocolates.

I have the Smiley Face 1970's cookie jar that my mom would put the Happy Niks cookies into. Would like to continue the tradition for my three kids. Sounds like they are not being made anymore, if this changes, please comment

We got our first box of HappyNiks in 1972, just after the NBA Finals had ended. The Lakers defeated the Knicks in that series for the pro basketball championship. Because of this, we thought the cookies should have been called "Happy Lakers" instead.

I loved these cookies! Aside from tasting amazingly delicious, they made me happy. Family life was not good for me in the 70s, but I would look at the box and know that things were ok somehow; that there was life that was good outside my family. The feeling of hope was overwhelming, I still recall it. At one point Happy Niks had an offer: send in $2 and a proof of purchase for a frisbee. Ten year old me sent in the allowance I’d saved and waited for the frisbee. Sadly the offer ran out or the company closed and my money (cash!) was returned to me. Lol- what a bummer. Still, these cookies were awesome and I like to imagine they’ll be back one day. Super fun reading the comments here and hearing peoples’ memories. (PS- life is good) :)
