Description
I'm glad to see someone else remembers good old Grin's and Smiles and Giggles and laughs and cecil cereal. I still have a complete set of the magnets that you could collect in every box.

Always hated the commercials for this and never ate the cereal.

You missed out, then, because the cereal rivaled that of Cap'n Crunch. Excellent cereal and great in-the-box prizes!

I still have the magnets too! This cereal didn't stay on the market too long from what I remember. I thought the name was: "Grins and Smiles, and Giggles, and Laughs." I didn't think Cecil was in the name of the cereal, but I do remember there being a character associated with the cereal by that name. I have no idea how I ended up with the magnets since I was the youngest of four!

The name of this post made me think of a packaged dry soup mix... like Lipton's... only I think it was called Giggle Noodle. The noodles were smile shapes... and I think the tv ads were crazy Peter Max animation. Or am I dreaming this? (I don't know how to add a new product category to the site.)

I remember this stuff and the magnets. Wasn't the Cecil character a robot or something?

Ralston-Purina made this cereal. From the Saturday morning cartoon vault, TV commercial with a green, grouchy machine that refused to be made to laugh...until a certain joke was told. This aired on "Jabberjaw" over ABC (10/2/76). Strange crossing of Jaws with the personality of Curly from Three Stooges.
