Description
Fun Dip was a powdered sugar candy in an evelope. There was a candy stick that you dipped into the powder and licked off the sugar - it had 2 flavors - I think cherry and grape. Sun Dew was a fruit drink that came in orange and grape - they came in individual 8 oz. containers.

I loved those sundew drinks. It brings back memories of me coming home from school on a warm day and my mom telling me to change my uniform and run to the store and get 6 sundew drinks for the kids in my family. That was our treat! Loved it . I come from Park Slope Brooklyn

Sundew orange drink was an orange drink in a conical waxed paper container with a metal rim and a waxed paper lid on top. It was first sold in the 1940s and stopped around the 1970s. It was manufactured in Queens NY. It was the best orange drink around. But not publicized as much as it should have been. We would go to the neighborhood pier for lunch with our mother and she would stop and get sandwiches and the Sundew drink. It was great. We even used the empty cones as home made phones by tying a string between them.

LOVED SUN DEW ORANGE DRINK. TASTED LIKE NO OTHER. WISH THEY COULD BRING IT BACK NOW. THE WAX COATED PAPER SQUARE BOX MADE IT VERY UNIQUE. WOULD BE HAPPY JUST TO FIND A PHOTO OF THE BOX WITH THE CUTE SUN LOGO AND THE ROUND CLOSABLE LID ON-LINE. DOES ANYONE KNOW WHERE THERE IS VISUAL PROOF OF THIS NECTAR?

My dad was the plant engineer at the Sun Dew plant in the 60s. He installed the machines that would blow-mold the plastic conical containers that replaced the original wax paper ones. I learned to drive (on a fork lift) on the plant floor on Dunkirk St. The owners were wonderful people who were very supportive of him when he was starting up his electrical contracting business.
