Description
This was a fast food joint that had French dip as its main menu item; I distictly remember its jingle in commercials..."Faaaast Freddie's--fast--with class!" I guess it wasn't too popular.

The gimmick of Fast Freddie's was this: the waitresses filled out your order on a scantron type form (that is, the forms you fill circles in with a #2 pencil, which can then be scanned by a computer). The theory was that this would be a big time save -- computerized order handling! It wasn't, though. The point of the jingle was to emphasize the gimmick.

Only found two restaurants here. First, a Fast Freddie's pizzeria in suburban Sacramento, CA. Second, Freddie's Fast Food, with stores in nearly 40 states.
