Description
They were 3 different soft drink mixes, like kool-ade packages. Why I remember is that to introduce the product, three very well made comic books were given away as a promotion, they were pretty funny sick humor about these three WWI flying aces, that were real screw ups. Pretty twisted for the 70's

Were these the same drinks that had Lefty Lemon and Rootin' Tootin" Raspberry?

I remember the flavors Choo Choo Cherry (a cherry with a train engineer's hat) and Goofy Grape. I had both of these plastic cups. Saved proofs of purchase and sent away!

I have one of the comic books in very good condition. If someone could give me information on what it is worth I would appreciate it.

Pillsbury came out with this limited series of drink mixes in 1967. A mail-in premium, "The Adventures of Baron Von Lemon" comic book was offered. The flavors were tangier than Funny Face. Baron Von Lemon had a lemon for a head, with mustache. Not surprisingly, these came out exactly fifty years after America entered WWI. Drink mix packet was red, with the baron's head pictured on front. In a twisted way, this also coincided with the Royal Guardsmen's series of "Snoopy vs. Red Baron" songs of that year. This nutty series of drink mixes was pure novelty, not destined to last long (gone when 1968 began).

From the Saturday morning cartoon vault: TV commercial for these motley mixes, with the Good Baron leading the others into battle with a madman called Demon Thirst, who wanted all the flavor packs for himself. Good guys prevailed. This aired on the "Mighty Heroes" cartoon show over CBS (6/17/67). The Pillsbury characters appeared as inept as Cuckoo Man and Strong Man of "Mighty Heroes."
