it came in a JAR-but i was always hesitant to try something called cheez WHIZ o to try anything with the word WHIZ in it for that matter. its still out there and now that we have microwaves and the great invention of NACHOS i think it will be around for a long time-but im still afraid to try it.

Kraft Cheez Whiz. It came in a jar and we used to put it on celery sticks.

Cheese Whiz is still available-I guess people don't get to the grocery store often.

Had this as a kid. Put it on sandwiches instead of regular cheese, a Cheez Whiz and peanut butter sandwich was great. Hadn't had it since then, but a few years ago I bought a jar of it and had one of those peanut butter and Cheez Whiz sandwiches and about, well never mind. Either they changed the taste of Cheez Whiz since that time or my taste buds matured, cause unfortunately the rest of that jar of Cheez Whiz sat untouched in my fridge for a long time after that.

Cheez Whiz flows through my arteries. LOL. I discovered it as a kid when my grammy didn't have any slices to make a grilled cheese.Instead, she toasted the bread and spread the Cheez Whiz on nice and thick and cut it in half.At first I wasn't sure but after one bite...YUUUUMMMMM !! I still get a hankering for those Cheez Whiz toast sandwiches and buy a jar.It takes me back to when I was 5. I also use it for burgers and mac n cheese and spread it on Club crackers.

Cheez Whiz by Kraft. Since 1965, the best tasting spread. Now, over four dollars a jar (59 cents in '65). Over the 1970s, the price escalated from 89 cents (1970) to $1.79 (1979). About the last product Kraft still sells in glass jars.

Kraft had another cheese spread in a smaller jar that could be reused as a juice glass. It wasn't as soft & runny as Cheez Wiz and came in a few flavors.

I have recently returned to eating Cheez Whiz. I love it on celery. It's so full of who knows what, it never goes bad or gets mouldy. What I would NOT eat again is "squeeze a snack"......that was gross.

@Celeste, the other Kraft spread was "Old English"...enjoying a small juice jar of it spread on celery (on a low carb diet). LOL. It is probably just as gross as Cheese Whiz, but I will eat anything now.

From the prime time TV vault, a cheez wiz commercial with different groups of people doing different dances while eating the cheese spread. These include a family doing the Bunny Hop while camping. This aired on "The Practice" over NBC (1/19/77). Danny Thomas as the cranky, yet caring, old-school doctor who's prerogative was to help people instead of raking in the dough. David Spielberg played his son, a Park Avenue doctor who cared more about making money. He had a wife and two sons. Also on the show, Didi Conn as Thomas's office manager. Dena Dietricht as his long-time nurse. Dietricht was better known as "Mother Nature" in Chiffon Margarine commercials. "The Practice" had lackluster ratings, and was cancelled after two short seasons, 24 episodes in all (two more were filmed, but weren't aired by NBC).

I love the Kraft Old English cheese spread. Tastes better than Cheez Whiz.
