Description
Well, it was actually a restaurant chain started by Joe Frazier?. Or perhaps Muhammad Ali. I just remember an orange sign with a black & white checkerboard.

Did some study on this. The first Champs was located in the terminal of Minneapolis-St. Paul international Airport, in 1984. Not founded by any pro athlete. As the chain grew, an extra letter was added, making it Champps. Today, Champps is headquartered in Dallas, a mid-level chain of sports bar-restaurant establishments. Since 2011, the company has twice filed for Chapter 11, but still survives.
