Description
Came out during the 1970's and I recall my mom buying those constantly. I think there was a chocolate w/chocolate filling, but the flavor I recall mainly is the chocolate macaroon (which had the coconut filling in the middle.) They were AWESOME. Haven't seen these in years though.

I LOVED the chocolate macaroon as well. When I was a teen (70's), I bought my own bundt pan because I intended to bake those cakes forever. I wish they would bring them back.

I was 6 or 7yrs old when Bundt Cakes came out. My absolute favorite was the Raspberry Ripple Bundt Cake. My mom kept them in our chest freezer in the garage. When they discontinued it, I made my mom keep the last Raspberry Ripple in her freezer for a special occasion! Well, needless to say, it made it to the bottom of that freezer and I am now 42! Last year, she decided to get rid of the freezer and everything in it!!! I am now the proud owner of a 1970's Pillsbury Raspberry Ripple Bundt Cake Mix still unopened in the box! I have considered e-bay or even baking it!!! Not sure what I will do with it! I am willing to sell it back to the Pillsbury Co. so they can check the formula and re-create it!!!!!!!

Debbi, the chocolate macaroon was the best selling of all the bundt cake mixes. You can still buy it through Nordic Ware. http://www.nordicware.com/store/categories/browse/bundt-gourmet-cake-mixes/EFCD6B5C-4975-102A-B382-0002B3267AD7/page/1 Lisa, I wouldn't open the box. The mix probably isn't good after all those years, and an unopened box is like a time capsule from the 70's. Someone would probably pay big $$$ for it. Try to keep it in the best condition possible.

Debbi, I remember those chocolate macaroon cakes also. And recently emailed pillsbury to see if they still made these or would ever bring them back. they emailed me a reply and said the product i was inquiring about was now produced by the j.m.smucker co. good luck finding it, i searched several sites and found nothing. just thought you might want to know. thanks tammy p.

whilst not the original pillsbury, seems as if the bundt idea is intact and possible to purchase...http://www.target.com/gp/detail.html/184-7475407-0757128?ASIN=B0007LC7QW&AFID=Froogle&LNM=B0007LC7QW

I miss the bundt cake mixes also! They were the best!! I used to make them all the time. Does anyone remember a yellow mix with choc frosting? I have been having a craving for it but for the life of me can't remember what was in the middle. I was going to try and recreate it myself.

I would love to get my hands on the butterscotch bundt cake with caramel glaze frosting. Thinking about it for years. Can anyone help.

I try to avoid mentioning bundt cake since it could result in an awkward spoonerism.

And this is why I am on the internet. Trying to find Bundt Cake mixes. Why or why did they stop making them? I want my children to experience it as I did.

They where discontinued because the cost was getting above what people would pay for them
Fern - December 04, 2009 - Report this comment
Then why don't they publish the recipe for those of us who still would like to make the coconut macaroon bundt cake?
Carol - December 14, 2009 - Report this comment
Nordic Ware web site has bundt cake mixes to sell. Cooks.com has many recipes from scratch for bundt cakes. We sell a revised bundt cake with a twist which is the best cake ever but can't tell you about it here. Be creative. Adapt. You can do it.

I remember the pilsbury bundt cakes. they had a tunnel of fudge, and the chocolate macaroon was absolutely the best. One reader said they discontinued them because of price? I find that hard to believe. If so many people like them, i don't see how price would be that relevant, besides, how much more does it cost to manufacture a bundt from a regular? From what i gather from all these comments they would sell very good. I'd pay a little more, because they were worth it. besides, you'll pay anywhere from 6 to 12 dollars for a already made cake, seems like a no brainer to me. Probably some idiot in marketing who has too much time on his hands, decided to discontinue their bestselling cakes.

Wow! Like minded people like me....I am so glad i found you! I was wondering if the 'Quick Bread' mix by Pillsbury could adampt to the Cino Bunt Cake they used to have. I miss them too. So fun to put sprinkles on with a big candle in the middle on birthdays. BRING 'EM BACK!

I had an old bundt cake mix recipe that I loved using white cake mix, inst.pistacio pudding, hershey syrup. the cake came out green with a chocolate middle....but do not remember the old size can of hershey syrup I used. I think it was 4 oz, but does anyone know.
