Ba ck in the early 90's there was a grocery store chain in the Columbus OH area that sold Bosco, all the time. I used to pick it up for fellow Bosco lovers who lived out of the area. Sadly, the store chain has closed and along with it the supply of Bosco.

I remember the "I hate Bosco" takeoff better than I remember the lyrics to the original jingle. We didn't use it in our house because I grew up just minutes from Hershey, PA.

We had Bosco in New York, but we used mostly the Nestle Quik chocolate powder or the Hershey chocolate syrup...that we got from Dairy Barn, along with the gallon of vanilla ice cream. I think back then, it did not come with the yellow cover. The can was always sticky and messy. Anyway, back to Bosco, I've found it at some Wal-Mart stores, though it's no longer in the tall, slender glass bottle. Now comes in brown plastic, just like Hershey syrup. Wasn't the jingle something like, "Bosco puts hustle in your muscle"? I could be making that up. lololol

Bosco goes back to 1928, and for the most part, remained an independent company. The traditional chocolate-only rule ended around 1978, when other flavors were introduced. Unfortunately, Bosco isn't available everywhere today.
