Description
It was a flat bar of taffy about 6 inches long and maybe about 2 inches wide and about probably a quarter of an inch thick. And it was in a foil wrapper, very chewy. You could put it in the freezer and freeze it and whack it on the table to break it up. It came in four flavors, Vanilla, Chocolate, Stawberry, and I think it came in banana. Good stuff!! The commercial had something about freezing it and whacking it on the table to crack it up. Good!!! My favorite all time candy!!

In the late 50's early 60's, when I was a kid, Bonomo's Taffy was one of our favorite candies. My brothers, sisters and myself. I used to collect soda bottles, take them to the neighborhood store and turn them in for money to buy it for us. It was great.

I still remember the commercial tag line - "Turkish Taffy tastes like ice cream!"

It was Bonomo, not Bonamo Turkish Taffy. Remember the three little puppets in the commercial. At the end, one would say "BO," one would say "NO," and one would say "MO!"

I love Bonomo's Turkish Taffy, it's the best candy I've ever had. My friend bought some at a sale in Hobe Sound Florida and I heard you can still buy it and I saw it for myself on a web sight. Just keep on looking and you will find it.

We used to put it in the freezer for a couple of hours and then smack it on the counter so it would break into pieces. The banana was always my favorite.

No Bonomos Turkish Taffy has not been mades since 1989, however just like the Black Cow it may be back real soon thanks to a nostalgic candy company buying the rights to manufacture it again. If some one purchased any lately it was a copy cat version of it.

Bonomo's Turkish Taffy was the best "movie" candy. I would buy a bar (always vanilla) at the candy store, which was cheaper than in the theater, slap it against a wall, and chew on the pieces for at least the first feature.

Loved the banana flavor; absolutely nothing like the Bonomo Turkish Taffy. Spent my allowance on it all the time.

We are happy to bring back a candy that carries with it a porthole through time. Look for the launch of our website which will contain commercials that have not been seen in 40 years plus classic images and the sights and sounds of coney island ny.

I remember that I kept asking my friends what ever happened to BONOMO Turkish Candy. It had the greatest taste and loved eating it while at the movies. All the flavors tasted scrumptous. Later on the candy was made into tootsie-roll shape so that you can have individual bite size pieces. Although I liked the big bars better. Glad to see them back and can't wait to eat one.

My younger sister used to love Bonomo Turkish Taffy. I remember her entering a contest - probably in the late '40s - "I love Bonomo Turkish Taffy because....". Sometime later, she received a letter informing her that she had won. She was so excited. A week or so later she got her "prize"; some little trinket that was probably the prize for all who entered. I don't remember what it was and she is now deceased, so I can't ask her. Just one of the memories I have of her.
