Description
Just wanted to mention my favorite food from from the '70's. Baby Ruth ice cream bars were the best . If I remember correctly, they had some sort of indiscribable ice cream flavor with a peanut butter flavor in the center and chocolate and maybe peanuts on the outside. I would love to find those again. I still look for them even though I haven't seem them in decades.

I used to get the Baby Ruth ice cream in 4th and 5th grade in Houston. It was on a stick, then. Nougat around the stick, covered by ice cream and chocolate and peanuts. I loved them!! I called Nestle and they said that they were, unfortunately, discontinued and would not be brought back.

I remember having the Baby Ruth Ice Cream when I attended Yuma Elementary School in Gate City, VA as a kid (I'm 50 now LOL). I think about them ever once in a while and wish they were available to purchase. I remember them fondly as being delicious!

I finally found the ice cream minus the stick, lol. Kroger's store brand ice cream makes it. All you need is Hershey's chocolate syrup. Delish!

Wow! I loved Baby Ruth Ice Cream Bars. As a young girl living in the country in Arkansas, one of my favourite summer past-times was taking a short cut through the cotton fields to get to Ms Lucy's corner store to buy a Baby Ruth Ice Cream Bar. It was so good, I didn't wait until I got home, but ate it right there, savouring every morsel of the best Dessert ever. Fond and delicious memories of my childhood. I could use one right night -LOL

Ha. I spent 2 months in Florida on a student exchange in the late 70s selling these ice creams. I used to live on them, plus beer, and there has never been anything like them in England - shame.

Oh, gosh, I had not thought about those Baby Ruth ice cream bars in years and just suddenly got a craving for one a few days ago. Didn't even realize they don't make them anymore. Our taste buds have incredible memories!

The Baby Ruth Ice Cream Bars first came out around 1978. This was prior to the acquisition by RJR Nabisco, and still a Curtiss (Standard Brands) product. Curtiss created Baby Ruth around 1920, named, unofficially (and without paying royalties to) Babe Ruth. The original Curtiss plant was on Chicago's west side, on Addison near Cicero Av. Its official mailing address was eight miles to the east, a post office box in the 13 zone (60613 zip, Wrigleyville area). In 1964, Standard Brands bought Curtiss, and moved production to a new facility in suburban Franklin Park. The Curtiss brand remained on Baby Ruth and Butterfinger (since 1931) labels until the Nestle takeover around 1990.

I use to get a babe Ruth ice cream bar every day after my school lunch! It was on a stick and it seems like the middle was like a Carmel kind of ice cream surrounded by vanilla ice cream and covered with chocolate and nuts! Makes my mouth water thinking about it now PLEASE BRING THEM BACK!! Lol!

I wish they would bring back baby Ruth ice cream bars. They were the best. My dad would always let us kids get one thing when we went to a store and I would always pick baby Ruth ice-cream bars. They were so good.
