Description
AM was a juice, orange based mixed fruit juice. PM was its alternate juice, grape based mixed fruit. They came in small tin cans with the metal pull tabs. I liked PM, as I was a grape juice fan. The commerical, AM was meant to be drunk in the morning, PM in the evening, but people kept drinking them at the wrong time, and there was somebody comically objecting, making the point it was okay to drink AM in the pm and of course, PM in the am.

Oh Yeah! MOTT'S AM & PM! My mom used to pack these in my lunches for school! I was always partial to the PM flavor, which was a apple-grape juice mix. I can't recall the brand name, but I found some apple-grape juice boxes in the store, and they tasted just like Mott's PM! Took me right back to grade school. I wish they'd bring this back.

Kindergarten lunch consisted of a bologna or cream cheese and jelly sandwiches, a baggies of pretzel sticks and Motts PM juice.

We had AM and PM juice in half day kindergarten in 1965. The "cool" kids brought PM juice and made fun of my AM juice, but my mom insisted on giving me AM juice because it was less sugary.

Song: "Drink Mott's AM in the morning. Orange and apple juice we've got, pineapple, prune, and apricot."

Hate to burst your bubble, but AM & PM juice came in tall thin cans initially & that was way back in at least the early 1960's - maybe even the late 1950's. Mom had us drink a small glass every night before going to bed after we'd had a teaspoon of liquid vitamins. (Ugh -the liquid vitamins, not the juice.)

In a family of 10, there were no frills BUT if we were ill, we could request AM apricot juice. Didn't come to us automatically but could be requested. Was available at a tiny corner store that kept my parents in cigarettes and us children in penny candy--our reward for running in and buying the cigarettes. One penny got us a significant bit of candy in the mid-late 1950s.
