These weren't window pane jeans, but the nicest satin pants in the 70's came from none other than K-Mart... They didn't have pockets, fit like a glove and the material was a really nice satin, they felt great on. The legs had a slight flare to them but not the big floppy legs and they fit your butt like perfection. I had a pair in every color- red, black, light blue, tan, and pink and wore them all the time. They were one of those kinds of clothes that you could dress up with a sequin top and heels for going out or dress down in a sweater and wedges for just hanging around.

I had to look at the picture above, I have to admit she's looking pretty darn good. I'm not sure about the feather thing she's wearing but the pants are very sexy, and she ain't too bad either. I was wondering whether someone could really pull off wearing a pair of 70's red satin pants today but she could walk down any mall in ease, I really think she looks awesome... She could sure be seen with me, that's for sure.

ditto on her, the pants, and the feathers

I like the feathers.. though I really like the pants, I'd buy a pair right now if I knew where to get them, they're cute! Cute shoes too.

Those pants are nice! My group of friends wore satin jeans, we really liked the way they looked and felt. We also noticed the boys liked them, so wore them to school a lot. I liked them too because they broke up the daily denim wear that everyone gets in, my favorite outfit was a light blue cowl neck sweater with black satin jeans. They were also cute with little t-shirts and there were all kinds of dressy tops if you wanted to dress up more, though I was a sweater girl most of the time.

Satin jeans are so sick! They're the hottest look I can think of in pants. Girls, you want to take a guys heart, there's your answer, I don't know any guy that wouldn't give it up to be with a girl in satin jeans.

I was in high school when satin pants were popular. My group of friends wore them to school since we were too young to wear them anywhere really fun. One day before I got my license we stood waiting for the school bus when we realized that all 4 of us were standing there wearing satin pants, each in a different color with strappy heels in the freezing cold. I never noticed the cold, but we had a blast at school that day because everyone noticed we were like our own little coordinated sorority and we got a lot of attention at an assembly that day. Times were different then, people don't dress up like they used to, but it sure was fun.

I had a group of friends and we were like Connie's. My senior year of high school ('79) we wore satin pants a lot to school, even to the basketball and football games (as long as it wasn't raining) and never thought twice about it, funny how times change (then have a way of coming back again). A few years ago, my 2 daughters did the same thing with the satin cargo pants, it kind of made me long for the good old days.

Does everyone remember the show Family, with Kisty McNichol in it as Buddy? That was my inspiration for my favorite outfit in the late 70's and early 80's. I had black satin jeans and a matching black satin vest that I'd pair up with a long sleeved satin blouse. I would never wear a short sleeved or cotton blouse with it and almost always wore Candie's heels, though sometimes wore black heeled boots with it. I loved that outfit for whatever the reason to a fault and probably wore it more often that I should have. It could be eye catching to be head to toe in satin, especially with a lighter colored blouse like pale pink or cream, but I was the manager in a higher end clothing store after college and it went well for what I did. It still is my all time favorite outfit even after all these years so I can relate to some of the comments, it brings back good memories.

In my early 20's, there was a high school bus stop that I used to go by on my way to work. It seemed like on most days there was at least one pretty girl in satin pants waiting with her friends for the bus. It was a nice start to the day and I came to view it as a good luck charm. Once in awhile they would be wear a little satin jacket with their pants and that meant a super day. If nothing else, it sure lightened up my day, they looked great.

I scrimped and saved to buy a pair of window pane jeans. After I got them, it turned out I didn't like them that well.

As I. recall satin pants were popular the height of the disco era, 1977-1978, and were almost exclusively straight legged, as was becoming the vogue at the time. I tried on a pair,.which came with a matching jacket, at Montgomery Ward in Los Angeles. The polished and sophisticated GQ look, for men and women, was soon to follow.
