Description: these shorts (running short length) were made from a lightweight terrycloth (almost like a beach towel)they came in various solid colours, usually sporting white piping around the bottom seams and up the sides. paired with white knee socks with two stripes to match the shorts.

My sister had a pair of pastel pink ones in about 1976-78, somewhere in there. They were that popular late 70s gym short style with white band edging and clamshell sides. The terry cloth used for shorts was usually pretty thin and light, not as thick as the terry cloth shirts people wore.
