i thought a sizzle dress was hot in 1974-5
Definitely 1971-72. Mini skirts were around before and after, but the Sizzle Dress had a very short (get it? ;-) lifespan.

I wore them too! Would have been 71-72. Caused a car accident once wearing one. As I remember, mine were red, white and blue polyester. My boss used to call me "Legs" when I wore them to work.
They were adorable!-----at least when you bent over and you accidentally 'flashed'you'd only show the cute matching material panties----not your underwear!
we wore them with pantyhose underneath, and big heeled shoes or platforms, usually the big white plastic looking high heels
Oh, and Sizzler dresses usually always had the big oversize pointy collars (white) and puffed sleeves. A little 'innocence' in those puffy sleeves to counter the sexiness of the short short dress maybe?!
