Yeah I liked them (Puka shells) on guys then- they were sexy!guys looked/ dressed sexy back then-- Their hair was long and windswept with the puka shell choker, the pants were tight around their butt! Like men still dress in Italy. woohoo!It looked good!

These were worn by men and women in the first half of the 70s, but mostly by men. A friend of mine would wear his around 1975 with a terry-cloth shirt under his layered and winged hair.

Puka Shell necklaces should only be worn by surfers under the age of 22. 30-40year old men wearing them just looks absurd. and as a gay man, I agree that if someone wears them these days and isn't a surfer kid, then yes they are gay and either: 1. Trying to look younger or hip. 2. To broke to buy a silver or gold necklaace 3. Both of the above.
