I remember those! I wore them to school everyday in the 70's! I've been trying to find them again (even a picture would be nice)but they are just a memory!

I always wanted a pair of the white ones but my dad would never buy them for me - said the white would get dirty too fast. He did eventually buy me several pairs of blue suede ones with yellow stripes. I also had a pair of brown seude North stars with sort of a square toe - wore them to church as they were a bit dressier.

I had a pair in grade 5 (76/77) and they had blue soles. They were banned from the gymnasium as they left long blue skid marks on the floor. I found a pair here in Vancouver. They are my prize possession!

Just saw new North Stars on sale at The Bay department store in Vancouver, Canada. It was like I was blasted back to the 70's.

In the 70's, I had both a solid blue suede pair of runners, and the other was all red suede, with a rounded toe, and the bottom sole was a yellowish rubber. They were kinda chunky, square style runners. I thought they were North Stars?

I have fond memories of my North Star runners. I had the blue suede ones with the two yellow stripes. When those wore out I got another pair. I remember that the blue dye in the suede would come off and stain the toes of my white socks. It didn't bother me, though.
