Description: These were thin suede like ankle-high boots, usually in tan or beige colors, with rubber soles. Very american indian type fashion. Went well with the matching jacket (don't recall the name) that had hundreds of thin, leather tassles hanging from the bottom of each sleeve.

Mnnetonka Moccasin still makes this knee-high fringe boot. It's very hot in Europe and Japan. Kate Moss has been wearing it through the spring and summer of 2007. Fads come and go...

You see lots of these around the various renaissance faires. A nice affordable alternative to some of the the more expensive moccs you can buy at the faire.

I have a pair of these in my closet! They are the ultimate footwear for pagan festivals ever. Because the soles are so thin, I put a pair of those gel inserts in them and they are very comfy.

These were really popular in the late 60s/early 70s, a direct lift from Native American styles. We made them in Cub Scouts and even beaded them.

I LARP a character from 1976, but that's way before my time. Does anyone know if you wear the moccasins outside the jeans or inside?

I wear moccasins nearly every day - I love them! My preference is for soft soled moccasins, and I have all styles - slip-ons, ankle-highs and knee-highs, in all different colors and types of leather. Some are beaded, but most aren't. Moccasins are a very comfortable and surprisingly long-wearing (if they're well cared for) style of shoe, and they make a really unique and cool fashion statement. No other type of footwear looks better with jeans, in my opinion. Moccasins are classic, timeless and awesome!
