Description: I think the treds you spoke of are what we called Hirochies. The were leather strapped shoes with black rubber looking soles. I also remember BB jeans and Trax shoes that were black with 3 white stipes on the side and a tan rubber sole that rolled up in a crescent when ya took them off!

Yeah, I think you mean huaraches, woven leather sandals from Mexico, often made with tire track soles. Very popular in the early 70s for men and women.

omg I can remember Hirochies and BB jeans like it was yesterday oh and the track tennis too lol and moon shoes remember them?? lol omg where has time gone.??@@@? SMH good ole days w/a smile lol

Yep, I had a pair of Hirochies in the 70s. The idea was that you got them wet and they would shrink then you put them on and they formed to your feet. Once they stretched out you did the process all over again.
