w/ a K, Kork-Ease, came in styles timid [maybe two or three inches] to torrid [six]. i have also heard them called water buffalos--some, i think, either these or their doppelgangers were made of buffalo hide [water or not i do not know]. - November 18, 2008 - Report this comment

I saw a gal in gold cork ease shoes just the other day in front of pure food in nyc. I stopped dead in my tracks and asked her if they were in fact cork ease (my favorite 70's high school shoes) She told me she got them from Zappo's so I immediately ordered them.

I had a pair of these in seventh grade, only they had an apple with one bite taken out of it embroiedred on the side. I had very narrow feet and used to fall off of them regularly - once I was at the movies with my family and I stumbled as we were walking out .. my dad caught my arm and saked if I was OK and I said I was fine, I just fell off my shoes! I thought he was going to die laughing.

OMG I had these shoes in 11th and 12th grade, 76-77. I loved the hell out of them ! They looked great with the high-waisted bell bottoms we wore and gave me about 2-3 inches in height. In winter we wore colorful socks with them so they were year round. They are still being made but have gone from 15 bucks to 150 bucks. Memories ....
