Description: Cheese Cloth Shirts, Especially With "candy-stripe" Colours And Short Or Long Sleeves Were Big Around 1975, 76 If I Remember Correctly. I'm A Guy...i Can't Describe Them Well. It Was Cotton, I Guess, And Kinda Crinkly (hard To Iron) And We'd Only Close The Lower 4 Buttons Or So.

are these the same as the gauze shirts? I remember that they were hard to iron too. I recently found one of my hubbies cheese cloth or gauze shirts in the closet. It was extra nice cos it had embroidery on it. I was from 1974, I know for sure cos I have a pic of him wearing it.

It was called "Calcutta cloth". It was a crinkly, gauzy material & was nice & cool in warm weather.

I still make good quality unique designer clothing from cheese cloth its very practical and lovely to wear and doesn't ever need ironing ... now reliving my youth !
