Description: These were the grooviest platform shoes. They were sandels but with a platform bottom. Most of them had a strap back and a triangle shaped cut out on the toe part. Mine had multicolor crisscross straps. I would love to find them again!

carBers, yep. w/ a B. theyre not all sandals. at the very least they also made high-heeled sneakers w/ something between a pinup & a gogo girl on the hell as a logo. sometimes these were made into knee-high, laced boots--the most fantastic of the lot.

vintageofthedamned in comment above mentioned something about high heeled sneakers by carber that were knee high lace up. do you know anything about this kind? i haven't been able to find any info on it. i have a pair. this is the first mention of it that i've found via the internet. i'd liked to know more about carber but it seems like there is nothing out there.

Barbara Nessim, a New York artist, designed a line of shoes for Carber in the 70s, Barbara's for Carber, which included lace up high heel ballerina shoes, platform shoes, and one called the Minnie Mouse. She is currently working on a collection of her 50 years in art and fashion. Check out her site.

I worked for Carber in the early 70's. Fit tried shoes from Italy, receptionist, and modeled in the shoe shoes at the Plaza. They also sponsored Casadei Shoes back then. Brothers. Carl and Bernard Marcus. Best job most fun ever had in life!!!!
