Yeah sometime I even used my mom shoes, I think at that time the shoes that people produced were in a very good quality/ material. FYI, until now, I can still use it and the leather or the heel still OK. WOW, and probably I could give the shoes away to my own daugther and grand daughter... ;-) Peace, 70's!

Candies were the hot shoe in the later 1970s. I think the slides (or mules) were worn by nearly everyone who ever stepped into a disco. They looked great with the high-waisted, wide-legged disco pants or the new stove-pipe pants too, especially the ones with shiny lycra!

I wore those 'plastic moulded' type Candies everywhere, everyday in 9th grade high school( as painful as it was) Falling down on the asphalt hill many times. Yes, I was a slave to fashion and A B B A- dancing queen/ bell bottoms....Teresa

the red ones in the pic are the new Candies, I just bought a pair. In my closet I found a pair of original ones with the leather strap across the shoe. I can't believe I used to be able to walk miles and miles in those shoes.

These are not my Candies. Not even close to the type of Candies I wore from the late 70s' to early 80s'. anyone know where I can find any of the real candies high heals from that time period

As I remember Candies they were just a simple slide with a leather or plastic strap around the toe and wood heels but man did they ever look good! And they weren't all that cheap, either -- I had to save up a long time and my mother still was against me having them!

The Candies mules- if you wanted to look grown up and sexy, those were the ticket! They must have been painful; those wooden heels had no shock absorbers whatsoever, but they looked fantastic. Olivia Newton John wore them in Grease and I desperately wanted a pair, but I was only eight at the time.

Yes, Candies slide looked sexy on EVERYONE! We all had them. I only had one pair, navy suede. But worn with dresses or jeans, they looked GREAT! Wish they would make them again!

I lived in Candie's slides in college. I had several pairs, all with those tottering 5" heels and thick pushed up platforms. Nothing looked sexier than a fresh pedicure and a pair of Candie's with my straight legged levis or short skirts. My favorite Candie's clogs were a pair of glossy black heeled and platform 5 1/2" slides with a black patent arch strap and the Candie's logo in white on them. I bought two pairs of them so I'd always have a fresh pair to wear. I missed wearing them so much but in the last four years, heel heights have really gone up and I bought a few pair of Jessica Simpson and Fornarina high heeled clogs to wear. I still get that longing look from guys when I totter by...

I had about 5 pairs of Candie's slides in high school, and so did all my girfriends. On sleepovers we would give each other pedicures and joke about how the boys would stare at our sexy feet and toes when we crossed our legs in class and dangled our Candie's. I loved to wear mine with tight Jordache jeans. Those sandals were so hot, they are the only sandals I remember the boys saying "leave your shoes on" when I would slip them off. When Candie's came out with the new versions (Maryleen, Sadey and Tortoise) I bought a bunch in different colors. I love the way my feet look in these, and I get whistles from the guys still. What a feeling. I hope Candie's keep these sexy shoes coming!

Candies were really cool, especially when worn with long bell bottom jeans. Now a days flip flops rule. Wooden sandals and clogs dominated the Seventies for sure.
