I wore my dad's old Korean war army jacket. Was the only kid to have one in my high school back in the 70's. Each time I watch MASH I see Hawkeye in his jacket, always think of those high school days.

In my home town, there was a military surplus store right on Main St., downtown Racine, WI. It opened in 1947 and closed in 1982. Army Jackets were popular among Vietnam-War protestors. Part of the culture included sergeant stripes with a peace symbol or marijuana leaf within. Today, the old surplus building houses Dover Flag and Map.
