Description: I don't actually remember the name of these boots. They were leather boots with a moderate heel that had a brass rings on each side with 3 leather straps hooked to the rings. One strap went into the sole, the second across the front connecting the two rings and the third went across the back also connected the two rings. See the picture of the Allman Brothers band in the "Live at fillmore east" album cover. Scroll down the the web page http://www.angelfire.com/tn/LSkynyrd/allman3.html. I still have mine. They went with bell bottom blue jeans and a jean jacket, of course they had to have the Levi's brand. That's how we dressed for most of high school.

I think those would be HARNESS BOOTS. I think some people might call them engineer boots.

We called these boots "Dingo" boots. They weren't as popular as the Frye boots in the western United States where I lived during the 1970s. In fact, you only bought Dingo boots if you couldn't afford the expensive Frye boots.

Dingos, yep, I had a pair, they were blue (faux) suede too.Broke my foot jumping off of a big propane tank. My foot swell up so bad in them that they had to cut my boot off to get to my foot in the hospital. Man I was mad!
